Quote of the moment

"If you can turn down the sound and tell what's going on, it's animation. If you can turn down the picture and tell what's going on, that's radio." ~Chuck Jones

Not sure if the quote is exact, Eric Goldberg quoted it in the Animation Podcast. Regardless, I think it's worth thinking about!

hey erica!!

those quotes are so true! the animation should be able to read without any sound and after seeing your 2nd pass.. you did it well ^^

i usually animate the poses first without any expression or lip sync to make sure the body reads. I usually have my head tilts and eye direction in it... And i might do a Muppet style lip sync if i have time in the 1st pass.

fantastic quote and great progress on your animation! it gave me a giggle each time I went thru it! i can't wait to see the final =)

Sorry i don't have any critique on how it could be better. I don't have to animate anymore this semester.. The teacher is allowing us to specialize in our field!

Just curious, Erica! Are u an animator like Alina or do you work in a different deptartment?

btw.. thanks for the tutorial on particles for explosions!

Oh! Sorry I just noticed your comment on my blog..

The steamboy bicycle took a few hours to do.

I just did a simple animation of it as it's rotating 360, all the gears are moving as well. I do plan on texturing but with this.. since it's metal, I may just use a material shader? Or should I unwrap it and make it have some worn out look?
